Choosing Your Best Marketing Strategy

I knew a guy who was in a traditional network marketing company. He was determined to succeed, and nothing was going to stop him.

But there was a problem..

He was doing what he was told to do. He was talking to as many people about his company as he could every day. Day, after day, after day. Nothing was changing though.

He wasn't making any sells, heck, he couldn't even convince anyone to allow him to show them the "plan".

What was the problem?

He was TERRIBLE at face to face conversations. He got nervous, he tensed up, he baffled along. You can imagine him."Uhh, Uhh, yeah, well, uhh" Lol! Sure he could have worked on these skills, and got a little better, but it just wasn't "him". So it was difficult for him to succeed. And back then, you could either talk to people face to face, or you could call people. (both which suck in my opinion)

Today, by marketing on the internet, there are TONS of ways you can advertise, promote, and sell whatever it is your doing.

There's social media, blogging, making videos, paid advertising, traditional prospecting, plus more. (I'll get into all the in's and outs of each in another post)

So how do you choose what is best for you?

Me personally, I've done a lot of each throughout my time, but there are reasons why I do certain things in particularly now, than what I used to.

Finding your best strategy, is solely based on you, your strengths, and your resources.

I used to blog and optimize my posts to rank on the search engines, which took A LOT of time. The problem was, (I didn't see it at the time) if I was lucky I had a few hours a night to work my business. So I spent months learning SEO, and then months optimizing posts with my little time each day.and I wondered why my business wasn't growing.

So I quit doing that!

I do know a lot about SEO, heck, I created a whole course about it, but I still hardly do it at all. I'd rather spend 15 minutes (like this post) share it on all my social media outlets, send it to my list, and get a few hundred eyeballs on it that way. It's what I'd rather do.

I still optimize my videos though, which doesn't take much time, because it's a great strategy for me because I HATE prospecting. (That's a rant for another post, too) I could talk to 30 people a day, sure, or I could make a video and have 30 people see my video. Works the same, but it is just what I prefer. I get around 100 views a day on my YouTube channel because of that work. Pretty cool.

What if you don't have much time, and your more of an analytical person? You'd probably be more suited to get into some type of paid traffic.

Maybe your a social butterfly? Well, get on Facebook, and get to it!

The point of this post is to try to keep you from getting stuck in a rut. Just because someone else is succeeding using a particular strategy doesn't mean you are going to nail it! It may take you some time, and that's fine, but find a strategy that suits you the best.

So what do I do now? I blog about 3 or 4 times a week. I take a lot of time to try to give value to my subscribers which I email about 4-5 times a week. I make YouTube videos based around certain keywords. I optimize them to try to rank in the search engines. I have a few low cost CPC campaigns running, and if it's a good month, I may purchase a good solo ad. I've also started getting a little bit more serious about social media. My actual work time is around 1, 1 1/2 hours a night.and I won't lie, sometimes, I don't do anything at all. But hey, that what works for "ME".

If your new, find one thing and focus on that. Don't try to do a million different things. Master one method, if it works, keep repeating it. As you grow, you can branch out into different avenues.
